Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that give cannabis its smell and flavor — myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, and dozens more. They are the honest core of strain character: what citrus, pine, gas, or cream actually is. Where coverage goes wrong is effect claims — marketing loves to assign each terpene a promise (relaxing, energizing), and the human evidence for those mappings is thin.
